The prestigeous University Hospital of Petie Salpetriere, Paris was recently host to Consultant Hip Specialists Mr Joyti Saksena and Mr Harold Nwaboku of Chase Farm Hospitals, Enfield, North London. The preeminant Dr Hedi Sariali welcomed both specialists to assist during minimally invasive total hip replacement surgery. Messrs Saksena and Nwaboku were keen to participate in and understand the intricacies and advantages of the procedure carried out through the Direct Anterior Approach (DAA), the non- invasive nature of the approach leading to a remarkably speedy recovery for patients and early discharge from hospital. The benefits of this approach are a very attractive option for patients to consider, whilst there are obvious economic benefits from reducinmg the length of time patients spend in hospital.
