British Orthopaedic Association Annual Congress 2013
1st Oct, 2013 (14:00 - 14:00)
Location: ICC Birmingham
From the President
The 2013 BOA Congress will take place at the ICC Birmingham in October. This Congress builds on the extremely successful meeting in Manchester this year. The theme will be Putting Evidence into Action. In these difficult financial times it is important that the orthopaedic profession uses evidence to support and underpin best practice. The evidence is not always conclusive but there are occasions where the evidence is ignored.
In trauma and orthopaedics we are fortunate to have some of the best sources of information including the National Joint Registry and the National Hip Fracture Database as well as new emerging registries. The purpose of this important information is to drive through improvements in clinical practice.
2013 is the second in our five year revalidation cycle, and the BOA will work closely with the Specialist Societies to deliver an extremely rich source of information and discussion. Congress will be invaluable not only to BOA members but also to other individuals and organisations associated with musculo-skeletal care.
With revalidation starting in 2013 we hope that you have pencilled in the BOA Congress in your diary and take advantage of early registration. The feedback from the 2012 meeting has been excellent and we intend to continue to deliver first class educational content.
